I'm not a pro, but had the same error, and worked around it by doing the following:
1. I found 3 *.ini files related to php:
php.ini in folder D:\wamp\bin\php\php5.2.5
phpForApache.ini in folder D:\wamp\bin\php\php5.2.5
php.ini in folder D:\wamp\bin\apache\apache2.2.6\bin
of course file folders & locations will be different by you.
using a text editor, i increased the "max_execution_time" parameter in these files from 30 seconds to 60 seconds.
this worked for me, i hope it does for you.

Dears,
I have 2 questions regarding printing & displaying purchase orders:
1. why doesn't the Item Code show in its field on the report? Is there any workaround? I tried to figure out a solution for that but failed.
2. why does the purchase order report have the form of an invoice (Invoice No., Cust no, Charge To, Please quote Invoice no. when paying....)? It has the title "PURCHASE ORDER", but other header fields are like mentioned. have i messed up something? Is there a simple workaround?

Can't believe the effort You're making here with this great project. I'm new to all this, but i downloaded the ar_EG.zip language file, made a lot of modifications, and would like to contribute it. it's not finished yet, but i will keep modifying and reviewing it with the help of a professional accountant.
