Hi,

The wiki is your 1st port of call for help, it probably has about 60% of all the info you need, so please invest time reading: Still need help? Search the forum (use google 'search term' site:frontaccounting.com if you find the forum's internal search frustrating); the forum contains the next 35% of the info you need. Still need help? Post a question on here.
Also you can always try some tests and experiments with your 'Training company'

So have a look at 'Quick Entries' in the wiki...it should be what your looking for

Yes, that makes sense now...

So as previously mentioned 'Sell the widget as a purchase item for $44.99 then the inventory would look after the stock etc.  Sell the service plan as a service item for $45' which can both go on the same sales order. Use sales pricing to set the costs.

Or as you suggest a sales kit; a sales kit can comprise of 'mixed' items - so purchased items and service items can be in the same kit. The inventory would still manage the physical stock of the purchased item. Once you've created the kit use sales pricing to set the cost. But sales kit price allocation will not give you the desired sales price of the widget.

A sales kit would be less work when creating the sales order and less complicated for users, but separate items give more flexibility.

Setting up a 'training company' will allow you to test, trial, etc

Hi,
Not exactly sure what you exactly mean?
But my initial thoughts are as follows:-

Sell the widget as a purchase item then the inventory would look after the stock etc.  Sell the service plan as a service item.

This is based on:-

The widget is sold for >£0, ie the widget is not given away @ zero cost to the client.

Yes, but not actually per customer, you would have to do it by sales type (Sales - > Sales Types) and the assign a sales type a sales price in Items and Inventory - > Sales Pricing.

You can create as many sales types as you want, then select the correct sales type when you create the sales order/invoice/etc and the correct sales prices should be assigned

So before you complete this weeks invoice edit the sales group list; edit deceased customers details and remove them from the sales group.
Then create one invoice with the correct items on it, then use this invoice as the template for a recurrent invoice Run the recurrent invoice, after its run once cancel it so it does not run again

If you need to know which customer is in which sales group this post may help

You would then have to do this everyweek, a little bit involved, but a lot easier than writing hundreds of invoices

Also although I've not tested myself but I've seen a topic on here showing how sales prices will affect the sales items prices, when used with recurrent invoices, but cannot find it at this moment - depending on your desired result it maybe worth investigating?

I looked at this myself, but the paradox is automation = non-flexibility, so the more automated the system becomes the less flexible it is, so recurrent invoices = same sale items AND same customers AND same timeframe AND same sales terms AND etc.

For an easier user solution I can only suggest you use the select multiple customers code as in recurrent invoices merged into the existing create sales order code

332

(14 replies, posted in Setup)

Or reuse the existing code???

333

(14 replies, posted in Setup)

@oakstreet, maybe have a look at recurrent invoices - select by sales group

That would be the better option wouldn't it?

FA can be used for multiple types of businesses, use the parts you want and ignore the parts that do not reflect your business

335

(3 replies, posted in Accounts Payable)

Read about voiding a transaction here

Create a training company, then you can test, learn etc all about FA without affecting your actual accounts

Create a supplier credit note, then create a new purchase order with payment to the correct supplier

You need to change the translation, help, how-to's, etc are available in the translation forum and in the wiki

337

(6 replies, posted in Reporting)

There is plenty of advice / tips in the translation forum and in the wiki

338

(6 replies, posted in Reporting)

You need to change it in the translation

Can also confirm I was using:-

$new_path_to_root = "../../.."; //new path for includes in customers.php

And

$path_to_root = "../.."; //Old path to pass in session

It seems that once the path is set in the session it remains the same – is this correct?

I installed on lamp server as well, this did provide slightly different faults:-

include_once(../../includes/db_pager.inc): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in file: /sales/inquiry/customer_inquiry.php at line 14
/sales/inquiry/customer_inquiry.php:14:     include_once()
/modules/additional_fields/manage/add_customers.php:451: include_once(' /sales/inquiry/customer_inquiry.php')
include_once(): Failed opening '../../includes/db_pager.inc' for inclusion (include_path='.:/opt/alt/php56/usr/share/pear:/opt/alt/php56/usr/share/php') in file: /sales/inquiry/customer_inquiry.php at line 14
/sales/inquiry/customer_inquiry.php:14:     include_once()
/modules/additional_fields/manage/add_customers.php:451: include_once(' /sales/inquiry/customer_inquiry.php')

The pear / php path is doubled up isn’t it?

%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%

EDIT

this maybe interesting

I changed php ver to 7.0 (Also tried 7.1... same result)

and the fault changed to:-

(include_path='.:/opt/cpanel/ea-php70/root/usr/share/pear')

No mention of .....share/php??????

Tried changing php ver on wamp, no change in errors - so this maybe a red herring?

No, not really, the COA is the 'Framework' in your sense

There is config.php in the root dir which has a few variables in it, but I do not think that's what you mean.

The rest of the settings are in Setup -> company setup and System and General GL Setup, but there are also many other menu items where you can configure FA: And all of these settings will be stored in the database(Which is your copy/settings of the COA)

Upload a COA, then go to Setup -> Backup and Restore... create a backup, download and compare with the COA

You can change the GL accounts in Banking and General Ledger - > GL Accounts

Hi,

Have you read this and relevant pages?

Extract:-

Workflow

The normal procedure is first a Purchase Order (PO), then a receival note (GRN) and then a Supplier Invoice (menu on right side).
If you do a Direct Supplier Invoice, all these stages will be performed in the background.
If you do a Direct GRN, a PO is done in the background. When the Supplier Invoice is received, you use the Supplier Invoice (menu on right side).

New users are encouraged to setup a training company, to test, verify, etc.

Another variable is what credit terms does the supplier give you?

You can void a PO in Setup -> Void a Transaction

Not sure what you mean by framework? Can you be more specific? More details?

3rd. If none of them are similar then you will have to create your own, use one of the existing COA's as a template.

Study the existing COA's, make the necessary changes.

Default accounts are defined in various places in FA. For example:-
Setup -> System and General GL Setup
And
Items & Inventories -> Item Categories

You can set the supplier payment options in Purchases - > Suppliers

(3 replies, posted in Accounts Payable)

2 options:-
1. Issue a credit note
2. Void the transaction

Let's say you sell building supplies, would the builder you have sold 5000 bricks to want the bricks delivered sent to his office or the site where he was building? And where would he want the invoice sent to?

The dashboard is already installed, read apmuthu's post #4 carefully please

Hi,

1st. If you are new to FA then create a Training company for you to practice, test, etc
2nd. SKR04 is a chart of accounts, how do the  4 current German COA's compare? You will find them in Setup ->  Install/Activate Chart of Accounts
3rd. If none of them are similar then you will have to create your own, use one of the existing COA's as a template.

In the unlikely event that you are thinking of including all of the accounts from the SKR04, then please be aware that you may slow the application considerably. In my experience most small companies need <150 accounts

The dashboard is well documented in this forum.... also have a look at what is included in Ver 2.4

FAMods is just the name i choose for the root dir.

Changed path_to_root to new_path_to_root

Now getting the following fatal errors:-

Recreated the original variable with original path ($path_to_root = "../..";) whilst keeping path to root in file as new_path_to_root ../../.. but it seems session.inc takes its path from the path used to access it (if that makes sense - path to root is not defined in session.inc)
