Of course you are correct, but when your main business is retail you will need these features, pole displays must be lit-up, scales turned on, cash drawers opened, bar code scanners and specialty printers operated. I just don't see how you can do all this with out running a little client side code?

I just wanted to comment on Dave's statement

This is what modules are for. While not all business is the same, all business must do accounting.

This system is well suited to business that have many locations in many countries. A business like this uses some type of groupware to bring everyone in the business together. Much of fa already has features like locations, employees, suppliers, etc. that are used in groupware.

Perhaps it should be the other way around, maybe fa could become a module of a good groupware system.

Hello All

craigbass76 is correct about this barcode scanner he talks of.  It is a hand held scanner with a stand if you want.  It uses what we call a keyboard wedge, like he stated it is a Y cable that goes between the keyboard and the computer, when you scan a bar code the code goes into the field the cursor is setting in no mater what program you are using, just as if you had punched it in on your keyboard.

I still look forward to what a good POS module will bring to fa...  on day.

Hey Joe, I don't how I missed that one.

The default install for the payment terms, (cash only, Following Month On, and Due After (Days)) should be set to N/A
