Topic: Multiple Products From One Manufacturing Process

Hello,
Is it possible to produce More than One Manufactured Products from Single Raw Material? For Example Out of 50 Ltr Bulk Packed Drum ( Single Raw Material) of Lubricant Oil We need to Produce 8 Bottles of 5 Ltr Pack, 10 Bottles of 1 Ltr Pack (Two Finished Goods).

Thanks.

Yes. That is what Manufacturing is. If you wish to make it separate Manufacturing orders, split the raw material quantities on separate orders to what is needed for the one manufactured.

Re: Multiple Products From One Manufacturing Process

Hi, we have also similar scenario where, Multiple products are being taken out from single input. e.g we have 100 Ltr of  Raw Milk  from which we take 100 Ltr Tonned milk and 10 KG  Cream.  where standard cost of 100 Ltr milk == Standard cost of 10 KG Cream

Now in this scenario whether it would be ideal to split Raw Milk in 50 Ltr - 50 Ltr  and make 100 ltr of Tonned milk from 50 Ltr Raw Milk ? which sounds quite strange, especially while stock audit if seen separately.

Any way out regarding this?

Re: Multiple Products From One Manufacturing Process

Raw Milk, Toned Milk and Cream are 3 different products.

100 Ltr of Raw Milk = 100 Ltr of Toned Milk + 10 Kg of Cream

If you treat the output products as the real constituent items and the input product as the "Kit", you will ordinarily be dismantling the "Kit" and selling the constituent items whilst you can also sell the Raw Milk directly if desired - directly in the "Kit" form.

Re: Multiple Products From One Manufacturing Process

@apmuthu, in post#2 you suggested that we need to split raw materials if the desired finished goods are multiple items. I am facing a scenario where in Rice Processing Plant, Raw Material is single called "Paddy". When it is processed the Finished Products are 3 Different Grades of Rice i.e Grade A, Grade B and Grade C. The fourth by product is the "Husk".

In this scenario we can't split the Raw Material. Can this be handled in FA?

Re: Multiple Products From One Manufacturing Process

I tried using UnAssembly but it has 2 problems.

1. The output quantity is not confirmed. But we can handle this by creating BOM at the final stage.
2. The cost of Raw Material issued is not distributed among the Finished Products received. Even the OverHead and Labour cost is not loaded to the Finished Goods.
