Topic: inodes usage

Hi

I am using FA 2.3.19 on remote ubuntu  12.04 .
Every time i log in to FA it creates session files inside the var/lib/php5 folder.
some of these files are 0 size and some large size.
This creates problem with the usage of inodes on the server  and sometimes
when i log in to the system FA shows errors as the inodes usage are full.
Is there a way to control the size of these files or stop them from creating.

thanks

Rida

Re: inodes usage

Have your system admin increase the number of inodes available, I'm not personally familiar with all of Ubuntu's settings but typically a system with a small hard disk will limit the total number of inodes available. Most UNIX's will allow a manual setting of inodes, assuming you actually have free space on your hard drive. Probably the simplest "no thought required fix" would be to add another hard drive and install FA on it. I have tried playing with Ubuntu in the past and found it to be limited in what you can do with it, if you have input in systems design I would suggest using Redhat or Centos.

I quit playing with Ubuntu because of the responses I received from the support groups on Ubuntu; rather than answering my questions about how to accomplish what I needed to do the response was "why do you want to do that?" This was annoying considering I have been a UNIX administrator for over 20 years.
