Topic: Transfer of inventory

Hello,

Was wondering if there is a way to have multiple users and run their own company but share or able to push to a central company or warehouse?

We need each user that has their own company to be able to create a product and stock on our main company or shared company such as ours acting as the distributor.

Each one of these users (much like a manufacturer) creates their own inventory and somehow transfers the inventory with their own per item serial number or token to us (the distributor).

We as the distributor receive this inventory of that one item (eg qty 1000) , we may sell only as distributor 200, at the end of month or a cycle we post back to user the qty 200 we sold. User then generates an invoice to us for those 200.
We receive invoice and pay it.
When were running low on stock, we then need to request for more inventory from user to be sent to us.

Can we have each user create their own company and share to one like us, or is it best to have two seperate setups one for us and one for users?

What & how is this process suggested we tackle?

Thanks
George

Re: Transfer of inventory

But what you want to achieve? Every company has its own accounting, therefore every one should have their own instance of FA. The one problem I see is that FA does not have implemented serial numbers tracking.

Re: Transfer of inventory

Easy enough to customize so each inventory item has some serial number?

Re: Transfer of inventory

The serial numbers are not addressed to next release. But of course you can try to implement it yourself. In fact there was no interests regarding this feature from FA community so far.

Re: Transfer of inventory

When is next release date?

Can you please confirm if each user in our case can have their own isolated company or store, and can they all stock our warehouse or move inventory, without one user seeing the others users inventory in the warehouse.

We are the warehouse, and distribute.
We then need to report sales to user, so they can generate an invoice at the end of month for items we sold/distributed even though inventory is higher.

Any other problems you see?

Re: Transfer of inventory

The date of next release is not known yet, but it surely will be in next year, rather in summer than spring.

I do not fully understand your need to give the suppliers access to your company data. If it is your company who keep care on the physical warehouse I see no sense to adding the goods received by your supplier's salesman, not the person in your company who is responsible for inventory status. How do you want to ensure that the quantities of items entered is exactly as they were supplied in reality?

Regarding reporting quantities sold there is no specialized report for this, but there is Inventory Planning Report where you have summarized monthly sales of every item. So if items from different suppliers are stored in your inventory under different item codes this should work.
