Topic: Zero transaction in Journal Entries and GL Account Transactions

Hi,

Software version: Version 2.3.1 Build 04.01.2011

Found several transactions with zero amount in the Journal Entries and GL Account Transactions:

Example:

Journal Entries:
Journal Entry # 28 1101008 01/05/2011 BUREAU VERITAS HONG KONG LTD TESTING FEE ON NOV 2010 USD65

Audit trail:

As per above, several changes has been made to journal entry 28, and resulted in the zero transactions.

Another Example below, with no changes made:
Journal Entries:
Journal Entry # 23 1101003 01/01/2011 AIA CO (TRUSTEE) LTD - MPF DEC 2010 BOC#716128
2150 Accrued Expenses 14,311.07
1062 BOC HKD C/A 14,311.07

GL Account Transactions:
Journal Entry 1101003 23 01/01/2011 14,311.07 -14,311.07

Audit trail:
01/11/2011 01:42:43 pm user1 01/01/2011 Journal Entry 23 Closed 14,311.07

No zero transactions discovered in journal entry 23.

Is this a bug?

Hello again,
The reason for the 0 transactions is that when you change a JE the old rows are voided (set to 0) before creating new ones. This way it is easy to see that changes have been done.

So this is not a bug.

Is it possible to filter the zero transactions from printing out?

If you look under Banking And General Ledger, you will see that Kalido has the same topic. He has suggested a way to filter away the 0 transactions.
We are considering implementing this.
