Topic: Function Disabled after created a new company?

Hi, I have created a new company with a new database to it. However, When I logon to the setup page, the following functions have turned into grey (Disabled/No Permission)
    * Create/Update Companies
    * Install/Update Languages
    * InstallActivateExtensions
    * SoftwareUpgrade

I have checked the Setup -> Access Setup   for "System Administrator" Role, found the "System administration:" Section on the privileges list has vanished.

Anyone knows why? Or it is intended to be like this? Is there anyway to initialize a database with full admin functions? !!!THANKS FOR YOUR HELP!!!

Re: Function Disabled after created a new company?

Installing external modules can be dangerous for whole system security, so the only person who can do this is the site administrator i.e. admin of the first installed company. To have those options accessible you have to login as admin to this company.

Re: Function Disabled after created a new company?

Thanks for your reply Janusz,

I have tried to copy the access areas for System Admin Account from the first installed company to the created company in Phpmyadmin. Since I wish to delete the first demo company (which has a level 20 access), but only leave one company active. However, after I logon the new company, the system admin functions are still in grey (Level 20 area is still disabled for the default admin). is there any way to assign the secondary company to a level 20) ?

Here are the areas assigned to the new company admin, it's not working.

Re: Function Disabled after created a new company?

This will have no effect,  just because only _the_first_ company installed has access to those sensitive areas. So you have now two options: operate on this menu options when you are logged to the first company admin account, or delete the first company at all. Then your current company will became the really first one, and you can use the superadmin options. Changes made in those options are global i.e. visible in all companies.

PS Of course the first company can be removed only manually. If you have 2 companies you can delete the first company by removing it from installed_companies.php file, removing /company/0 folder and renaming company/1 to company/0.
