I would love to be able to integrate Front Accounting with MS Active Directory (or Open LDAP) so that there is a single user sign-on capability. Anyone done this sort of thing?

Topic: MyISAM tables (1 replies, posted in Installation)
Hello, the installation notes indicate that INNODB tables are required by FrontAccounting. After installing version 2.3.5 I notice there is a mix of MyISAM and INNODB tables in my database. Is this normal and Ok or should they all be INNODB tables?

Re: Modules problem (9 replies, posted in Installation)
Hello Joe, I have just upgraded to 2.3 from 2.2 I use the Import Journal module and now that does not appear to work. When I look in the Install/Activate Extensions the 4 modules I previously loaded (import_budgetentries, import_journalentry, import_multijournals and repgen) appear, but there is an error

Re: Coordinated document numbers ... (3 replies, posted in Setup)
Hello Joe,
I might be wrong, but I do not think your answer would work. I think if you look at the base document numbers, it is 0224 and all the other documents have a specific prefix, eg: Quote is 1, Order is 6, etc.
If you set the starting document numbers as suggested and the second quote is turned into an invoice before the first quote, then would the invoice numbers be backwards in this numbering sequence?
eg: Start Quote at 1000, Invoice at 6000. First quote is 1000, second quote is 1001. If the second quote is turned into an invoice first will it become 6000 and the next invoice become 6001? If that is the case the the results would look like this:
Quote: 1000 1001
Invoice: 6001 6000
etc.
That does not look like the coordinated document sequence as described to me.
Otherwise are you suggesting that the system will create all these documents numbers, regardless if they are subsequently used or not, to reserve the numbering sequences?

Re: Fixed Assets module (3 replies, posted in Wish List)
As a fully featured accounting package, and with the manufacturing module and sales, it seems that Fixed Assets is a big gap in this excellent package. Is there any progress or intention to add Fixed Assets? Maybe a group of interested parties can work on this module.

Re: Hide Menu options if not authorized (7 replies, posted in Wish List)
Given the nature of this software it appears it should be relatively simple to add a switch in the setup that allows either ghosted menu or hidden menu. I might look into this, of course if it is notpart of the build, or cannot be externally linked then any change would need to be applied with every update of the software.
