Thank for your prompt reply.

I read Opening Balance thoroughly in WIKI but the issues that I couldn't understand is that, how to handle my need via this. Let me give you an example:
Consider I have a customer/supplier X and it is my first time to work with FA. I defined every thing possible in FA such as banks accounts, fiscal years, customers, suppliers and etc... Now, for some defined customers/suppliers I have some previous payments that not settled yet and I just wanted to enter an opening balance sheet for that.
FA has a very nice option, Payments and Deposit. Via this part I can directly point on customer and supplier but in FA journal entry I can't point on specific customer/supplier.
The question is how to enter an opening balance sheet in by which whenever I check out customer/supplier transaction it show's me all invoice plus opening balance.

I do hope could clearly explain what I want smile

I am having a simple accounting question. smile
How do I enter opening balance for supplier and customers?
For example customer X has debt to company or VS Company has to its supplier. In this case how should we enter first opening balance to them?

I checked for many times. Journal Entry works perfectly but whenever I put an amount in Payments & Deposits got the error. Mentioning that I had not revised the source code, just changed DB to UTF8 and some Banking and AC modification, also I am using  latest release 2.3.19.

After creating new CA and hundreds of hours up and down operation, I got an error in Deposited and Payment section. What ever I do for payment settlement, got an error with the message of "Settled amount have to be positive number".

Wondering what part I made a change in DB or the use of FA I got this.
BTW, I did not change any code in FA.

You prompt answer appreciated in advance.

I knew there are a lot of post related on COAs but mine is new. Believe it or not, I Googled a lot on this matter but couldn't relate my founds objects to this matter.

Here the problem:
I build a new COA successfully, also made changes on "sys_prefs" table default values to match them with my new COAs. After checking "System and General GL Setup" I saw everything is fine. But when I clicked on "Update" button, encountered with below message.
The Retained Earnings Account should be a Balance Account or the Profit and Loss Year Account should be an Expense Account (preferred the last one in the Expense Class)

You know what I missed!

After installing a module I saw every where that I have to activate that. I supposed after installation activation done automatically, then via kind forum friends I realized that I have to select from the drop down menu the installed modules for the default company and then activate that.

In my idea that section is somehow is not user friendly

I am willing to disable any item from tabs through code. Because "user access" section does not give me the power of controlling system as I wish.

According your kind guideline I did many times but nothing happened.
I wish to try this module once smile

as far as I saw in posts and forums, module should activated after installation. Then we can see in Access Role to give the user permission of using that. But I couldn't find it, what I did to enable manually via “installed_extensions.php” file.

Thanks for using FA

As far as I learned from this forum masters you should follow below instructions to fulfill your needs smile

To do change on some items in menus, you need to do like as translation:
1- Install PoEdit software  from http://www.poedit.net/
2- There is one PO file on lang\new_language_template\LC_MESSAGES directory. Open the PO file with PoEdit software then do whatever changes you'd like and finally update the language/add new language.

To enable/disable some Items you will go through "User Accounts Setup" & "Access Setup"
If you want to hide the disabled items you just need to do one more thing, just change "$hide_inaccessible_menu_items = 0;" in "config.php" file to 1.

In most forum posts, there are many documents mentioning that I should find a Dashboard roles, but I see nothing there!
Do I miss anything?
I did this procedures with more than 8 times with free FA installation

I don’t know why these funny problems happen to me smile
Here is what I did:
1-    Prepared a fresh installation of FrontAccounting 2.3.18 on Windows 8 & WAMP
2-    Installed Theme Dashboard
3-    Installed Company Dashboard and changed them to Dashboard theme
4-    In Access Setup for the current user (Admin), I couldn’t found Dashboard in roles!!!
5-    Since couldn’t found Dashboard in roles! Manually in both “installed_extensions.php” files (I mean Root and Company) false changed to true.
6-    Then in Role section I saw Dashboard role appeared and then I settled for Admin user.
7-    After successful smile log out and log in when I clicked on Dashboard Setup following error occurred:

DATABASE ERROR : 
At file C:\wamp\www\EnFa18\modules\dashboard\includes\dashboard_db.inc:17:
Cannot retrieve dashboard widgets items
error code : 1146
error message : Table 'enfa18.dashboard_widgets' doesn't exist
sql that failed was : SELECT id,app,user_id,column_id,sort_no,collapsed,widget,description,param FROM dashboard_widgets WHERE user_id = '1' ORDER BY app, column_id, sort_no

8-    Meanwhile when clicking on Reminder Setup again I have problem

Sometimes less knowledge bring us disastrous events.

I put FA 6 month for trial use, trial users did many things from hacking password from backup SQL file to changing system default settings. There are some absences in user permission part that does not meet my needs:
1-    Trough back up file anyone can access Hashed password and can set the Admin password to “password”
2-    Second admin can create new company and be able to make access to whole system.

The bad thing about new admin is that: new admin can create new company; on that way the Admin can again make access to whole the system.

I don't want him/her to play with that parts smile

Maybe this question looks ugly smile but it is really important to me. As far as I checked last post I couldn’t find my answer.

I want to remove below links from SETUP tab, I did previously by admin user via user permissions but other admin users can assign privilege again and work with that options.
