Hi Joe
You can email from the reports options. But I think having an option at the inquiry list level will make the jobs easy as you can view filter by customer. When you have hundreds of purchase order then combo list is not very convenient.
Thanks
It's much more fun, when you can discuss your problems with others...

There is an email option when you complete orders, quotes & invoices on both sales and purchase modules. But once you get out of it (say you printed the order or invoice and forget to email it) the only way is to print and save a pdf file and then do a manual email to supplier/customer. I think having email option on quote, order, invoice inquiry list in both purchase and sale module alongwith (print & edit option) would be very useful.
I've just had a look at demo of Phreedom ERP at http://www.phreesoft.com/demo/. I found couple of very good functionality.
1) Manage Customer & Manage Vendor. Very nice list view with sorting option which lets you choose the record to amend.
2) On Sales/Purchase orders, quotes & Invoicing, popup window list view selection of customers/suppliers with search option on top.
I think we should have these in new version.
Hi
I've moved on to Zend Server CE from Wamp. It's response is very fast on Windows 8 x64. I was having problem with Wamp server on Windows 8. There was a delay of 1 second on every action. I have one issue with Zend server. On install extension page, when I install or uninstall any module, the page refresh (i can see refresh icon go round on top) but download icon or delete icon do not change until I get out of the page and then go back. Is there any PHP extension missing on Zend server?
Thanks
I don't think you have understood my point.
There is a bug in Bank Payments & Deposits Journal. When selecting Customer and Supplier in "Pay To", system correctly picks up default receivable and payable GL account resp. but the GL account drop down is enabled and allow you to select any GL account which is wrong. If we are making a payment/deposit journal to a supplier/customer then first two cells "account id" & "account description" should be greyed out (disabled) with default values.
It doesn't say how to implement update. It has release notes.
Hi
Does anybody know how to update my current version 2.3.12 to 2.3.13?
Another good feature added to FA.
Thanks to developers
In next update, I think we should have confirmation dialog window for all creates and updates.
I think we should have default tax group set up in "System and GL Setup" for customers and suppliers.
I found these parameters in config.php very useful and interesting.
$use_icon_for_editkey = 0;
$use_audit_trail = 0;
$show_voided_gl_trans = 0;
$show_users_online = 0;
$show_po_item_codes = 0;
I've tried the search but it's not same as a full popup window where you can freely scroll and do search in that window. I can't find F2 apart from the hint on to create new customer.
I agree. Combo box for GL account, items, customer/supplier list in all modules should be on popup window with few more columns. It's easier to create/edit items and GL accounts if we have popup window.

I have tried that. It works as you are basically assigning a tax code to GL account. So it is not adviceable to use "Supplier Invoice" for non-VATable expenses as your tax report will be wrong. The problem is when I have issued a purchase order to a supplier and then you find on the actual invoice a shipping charge. At this point on "Supplier Invoice" you add all order lines and the only options are quick entry or choose shipping from GL Account. I have tired both and none of them works if the expense is not VATable. All you have to do is cancel the whole purchase order, create new PO with shipping charge on and then post the invoice. If you were to go for creating service items then you have create one for each expense account.
I would suggest to bring tax code assignment to each GL account in next upgrade. In the meantime, easier way out is to make slight change in the "posting" code on supplier invoice which should insert all the data from the form and not do any other background calculations. I tested one supplier invoice by entering expense for £1000 and then manually entered 20% VAT line as amount £190 (instead of £200). What system posted in table "trans_tax_details" was tax of £190, which is correct but the invoice value was £950 (instead of £1000). What system should post in database is what is inserted on the form. By doing background calculate without user knowing is very misleading.

For UK VAT return, you need total amount of all purchases and sales within the tax period. I've realised that FA is not posting any invoices with zero/nil tax supplier invoices to "trans_tax_details" table. The tax report is fetching tax report data from this table only. For example, I have a supplier who is not VAT registered who is supplying non-vatable items. When posting supplier invoice, I have shipping cost to add. Now say total item cost is £1000 (not vatable) and I add GL account shipping cost of £10 to it. My total sub-total is £1010, Tax £0 and invoice total is £1010. When the invoice is posted, only £1000 is posted to "trans_tax_details" table. My total purchase on this invoice is £1010 not £1000. I want to customise this process by picking the supplier tax code and posting the GL account value to that tax code group. At present, the system is set to work out invoice value based on the tax amount entered in the invoice. Can anyone help me locate the function which does this working and the one that generates insert statement on this table.

I would like to suggest effective date & ending date for each tax type. This is very useful when tax rate changes are announced by Government. For example, standard VAT rate is to change from current 20% to 17.50% from 4/12/2012. You can add a date line for this tax rate today with effective date as "04/12/2012" and ending date as blank. on the previous date line, ending date is set to 03/12/2012. This is also important for deliveries done on or before 03/12/2012 but not invoiced (for both sales & purchases). A user producing invoicing against delivery or supplier invoices for purchase orders, say on 7th, will get wrong tax if we change the tax rate on 4th morning to new tax rate. If we have date line for each tax type, any sales delivery received or PO delivery will look to tax type date range and according apply the correct rate tax for the date of purchase invoice/sales invoice.

Yes. I have entered company email address. I've tried on all documents in sales module with different email but get some error.

I am not able to send any documents by email. When I choose iption "Email this Order", I am get message "PURCHASE ORDER PO000016. Sending document by email failed. Email: test@hotmail.com" (real address removed).
You can void the transaction but I feel this deleting a entry erases the history. I would do correction journal to reverse the payment.
I found a bug in reference sequence. After voiding the transactions, the customer payment reference got rolled back as well. i.e my payment number was CPT00006 and after voiding this payment, when I go to make new payment, I get same number instead of CPT00007.

I am able to enter item line with 0 quantity & unit price and also 0 unit price and a quantity (with warning for unit price being less than 0.01). I am able to post the sales order at total 0 value. On next step, I am also able to dispatch the item which has quantity on it but the one with 0 quantity disappears at this stage. On the last step of invocing, I am able to process sales invoice for 0 value. Is this correct or is there a bug? I think you should not be able to generate any of these at 0 value.

In next update, can we have exclude from purchase option for items (just like exclude from sales). This helps when you have 2 tier bill of material. for example I manufacture snacks. There are some manufactured ingredients which are again mixed to make another product. You don't want to purchase manufactured items and it also shortens the item list in purchase order.

Joe
I don't understand your question. I am not talking about supplier. It's an issue with item drop down list. The select query is fetching all data. You need to exclude inactive items on this list.
