I am curious where FA is trending and did some research on AI.  This is what I got back.  I didn't "write this" nor did I ask for the remarks to be slanted.  It's just what they said.  It seems to be pretty much spot on.
------------------------------------

Dolibarr: Trending Strongly Up ????

Dolibarr is experiencing massive momentum and is behaving like a thriving, modern software project.
• Aggressive Code Development: A quick glance at the Dolibarr GitHub repository shows a highly hyperactive community. Developers submit multiple code updates and feature enhancements daily.
• Regular Major Releases: The project regularly pushes out major, polished version upgrades (scaling past Version 24+), introducing new security patches, UI improvements, and modern APIs.
• Growing Commercial App Store: The "DoliStore" (their plugin marketplace) expands every month because third-party software developers see a growing user base they can build paid extensions for.

FrontAccounting: Trending Down ????

FrontAccounting is essentially in maintenance mode. It is a stagnant project that is slowly fading into obsolescence.
• Minimal Development: The core FrontAccounting repository goes months at a time without seeing substantial new features or code changes. Most active development has been frozen for a long time.
• Security Patches Only: The tiny team left maintaining FrontAccounting primarily focuses on keeping the legacy code compatible with newer versions of PHP and patching critical security bugs, rather than adding new capabilities or modernizing the system.
• Shrinking Community: The user forums and third-party extension ecosystems have gone relatively quiet. Developers have largely abandoned it to build for modern platforms like ERPNext or Odoo.

The Takeaway

If you deploy FrontAccounting today, you are locking your company into software that looks, feels, and operates like it belongs in 2012.

I have gone back to my route deliveries plugin to add some more features I desired but didn't have the time for. I've pretty much finished up the next update. just going through the cleanup and documentation part.

One major feature is recurrent transactions. The old core RTX left much to be desired. I think my UI flow is much more logical, it has support for deliveries and invoices, and support for "by day" (every 2 months on the 4th Thursday / weekly on Mon, Tues, Fri). You don't need to mark a template for RTX, you just select the customer and branch, then a sales order list ordered by date comes up. Select one, and there is a pager link to verify. AJAX handles the form to show correct options based on selections.

I think this is something core should have, but it works on a new table structure. I purposely recreated one to be as compatible with the CalDAV format (stripped down) as possible to allow importing events (possible now) and for cal apps to read events (not available yet).

Anyways, is this something you are interested in? @joe @apmuthu, do you want me to make a branch of core, implement it, and maybe make a conversion/copy script from the old table to the new? Or do you want to wait for the module GitHub push update to try it and give the OK before I bother with it?

It's amazing to me that nobody has responded to your post.  Looks like it's been out there long enough for a woman to get pregnant and have the baby before anybody responded.  What is going on with this site?  Why is there so little interest?  This is a good product but unless people get involvbed - and active - Quickbooks will just steamroll it into the historical dust.

Your FA should be set up with proper directories such as  (www - examplecompany - com/public).  On the same peer level as public you should have 'folders' for config file, etc.  You put the config_db.php in there.  You NEVER want to put it in a accessible directory (folder). Clear as mud?

Can you believe I actually got a 'warning' from this site about posting with a 'link' in my text which I then circumvented with dashes. Seriously?  It's 2026 on the verge of 2027 and we do things right out of circa 2005.

So you start with a "looking for" ad, but really you are advertising a business.  Dodgy mate.

So for people starting out - - what PHP version should they be running?  I think that would be helpful for them t0 know.
