the best implemented way for theming that i am aware of is the Joomla way which they call overriding, or Wordpress child theme.
right now its hard to share your themes since you need to edit the core files, we really need a better way for theming FA.

When I replaced the whole report folder it worked. So it seems some of the modification caused this.

i have noticed that some my reports ignore the start and end date and generate the reports for the whole fiscal year.

i tried to disable date picker and entered the date manually but i got the same result.
in the header it showed the correct period " start and end date"
but the reports show all transactions for the fiscal year.
i am using FA 2.4.1 on php 5.6 and the reports i am talking about are Customer Balance and Customer Detail Listing.

the items are purchased..
So how do i add item attributes so that at item creation i have multible text boxes to add the needed data for each item.

i am trying to add special field for each item.. i dont want to add color and width in the describtion.
maybe we could use item type and have special set of fields for each item type.

this sounds good.. but i dont know if it works in my case...
what i want is a field when i add a new product.. where i can add color and width to each product i enter.. so i guess altering db is a must.

would you please share the code ??

Yes.. the salesman should be able to create new customer account and to select his name as the sales person for that new account..
but they shouldn't be able to edit an existing customer account.
that should be doable by a super admin only.

is there a way to prevent non admin users from changing the sales person for a customer in customer branches page??
this is very nedeed since salesman keep changing the sales person for an existing customer so they get credit for any new items sold to that customer.

Here is what I got so far

going to sales -> Allocate Customer Payments or Credit Notes, then check "show settled items" then click on allocate.. doesn't work for me on a new installation.

what works is using Sales -> Customer Allocation Inquiry, select the customer then check the box to show settled items.
after that clicking on the dollar logo would fix the problem.. the customer balance and statement would show the correct value.. but a new problem is created.

The amount that you settled in the Customer Allocation Inquiry will appear as negative value in the Aged Customer Analysis since the customer payment is duplicated for some reason.

Please check your Aged Customer Analysis report.

whenever i do this the outstand value in the customer balance increases when it should show 0.

i just replaced the folders that have been updated with the old ones in my installation...
which means that includes, purchase, sales and lang folders have been updated with the fix..

following the same steps mentioned in post #6, i can confirm that the customer payments made after the final invoice has been issued is appearing in the allocated as it should...

But we got a little problem left..
The total and grand total still show the amount that has been paid by the customer after the final invoice has been issued ..
in short.. the customer payment amount appears under the allocated field but its not calculated in the total and grand total..

it shows the customer balance report for a customer, who bought one item for 1250, using the prepayment method mentioned in this wiki article

Here is how to produce the bug ..
1- Create a new sales order entry and select  Prepayment payment "in my case the sales order total was 1250$".
2- Using the customer payment, we added the amount of 250$ "the prepaid value"
3- Convert sales order to delivery.
4- prepayment entry --> Final Invoice Entry

Now the payment you make after this wouldn't be subtracted from the outstanding , instead it would show as negative value in allocated.

it seems the problem happens after Invoicing Prepayment Order, the payment made after this step wouldnt appear in the customer balance.. so the outstanding would be wrong.
