Some of the customer codes have disappeared. They don't show up while making sales order/quotation. They also don't show up on "add & manage customer". When I checked in PHPmyadmin, they are very much there.

I am unable to enter work orders against some items as they don't show up. I am able to see and edit them on Items page. I can also make sales order/quotation. But, still they don't show up when entering work orders. Why is this happening to some of the items?

@apmuthu, after upgrading from 2.3.21 to 2.3.22, I am getting error on item location transfer. When I try to transfer stock from one location to another, it shows that "The quantity entered is greater than the available quantity for this item at the source location". But the Item status is showing the stock is there. This is happening for every item.
Edit: Reverted to 2.3.21, now the error is not coming.

Re: WO with multiple items (7 replies, posted in Manufactoring)
Hi @apmuthu, at least if there should be a mapping where one can see which work order is related to which sales order. Right now, they are completely independent of each other. We should have an option for making an independent work order or a work order linked to a sales order. An operator should be able to look in to sales order and see the work order made against each line item or vice versa.

Well, this is an operational requirement for my shop floor people. Even the Sales Orders can be searched by ID apart from reference. I guess I'll have to find a way to configure it myself, since you don't consider it necessary.

There is sort by reference, but we need sort by first column in work order inquiry. Please advise.

In any industry, Product development is an integral part. I feel that a separate module dedicated for Product development should be there. Here, the user should be able to keep track of product development at various stages (Design, sample making, submission to customer, feedback, approval, costing etc.). Other users/developers are invited to share their thoughts.

Re: In process rejection (7 replies, posted in Manufactoring)
Yes, it is an overhead. But, it is a part of production also. In many industries, such as spinning textiles, the wastage quantities have to be monitored at every stage. These wastage can be sold in scrap and can generate some revenue. Also, it is critical to monitor wastage for effective work order planning. There needs to be a way to add a percentage of expected wastage to the order quantity while generating new work orders and then subtract actual wastage from production quantity at every stage so that only the good material is forwarded to the next stage. The total actual wastage per work order along with its percentage can be listed for analysis.

Re: WO with multiple items (7 replies, posted in Manufactoring)
I really need a way to make work orders by importing from a sales order and also a way to use Sales order as reference to the work order. This is my team's requirement as other wise it gets very difficult to track work orders in correlation to sales orders. Also, we need a way to bulk release work orders. If we can give check boxes on each row in work order inquiry and give a single link for "Release" at the top or bottom of the page. It would save a lot of time. Please look in to this.

Re: In process rejection (7 replies, posted in Manufactoring)
At any stage of production, there are some material wastages during the process, which have to be accounted for. For example, ours is a labels manufacturing industry. We make labels for garments. These are woven in strips and then cut. There is rejection due to weaving faults, labels setting on machine, operator error etc. Right now, we make our work orders by hand and account for all the expected rejection(which we standardize based on experience), by increasing the work order quantity by that much. Now, we have to monitor the rejections at various processing locations through which the material is being processed. After process rejections at each level, the final product quantity should be at least the amount we require for dispatching. Some times, it might happen that the process rejections may be very high due to any reason and final production quantity will drop. In that case we'll have to take additional production. This can be taken as a case study.
