I think it may be difficult to build it as a extension without core file changes. I just gave an idea so if joe make the necessary changes in core files to integrate it as extension it will be possible
users can view the gl entry using the gl_trans_view popup , it will also display the current status ,name of approved by, rejected by and reasons for rejections etc

Instead of disabling you can allow direct posting for all users and restrict the entry to approval page

Hi apmuthu,
I changed the db version to integrate it as a software update
I have added two new files in sql folder
Basically it will put a status flag on gl_trans table and audit_trail table
0=>Pending
1=>Approved
2=>Rejected
reasons/memo for rejections are stored in separate table

I am currently integrating GST into FA core for Indian users. You may have to wait a little bit and as for your solution what I am doing is
State of the Customer/Branch,Supplier and Company will be compulsory if GST Enabled and assigning HSN/SAC Code to each Item

Hi,
This is one of another modification to FrontAccounting. There may be bugs and I am not giving any warranty for my modifications.
Expecting suggestions , only minimal changes done
1. When creating users we can enable or disable direct GL posting for that user
2. In access setup we can enable or disable Modifying approval pending GL Transactions
3. Approver can approve,reject or void that transaction
4. Rejection and voiding will prompt for memo
5. To Approve pending transactions go here Banking and Ledger tab -> inquiries ->Pending GL Transactions

Everyone I am back with another FA Modification that is Autocomplete Select Box.
The script is in pure JavaScript with Zero dependency.
You can enable or disable it on config file at end of the page($auto_select_box=true or false)
You can search by category also
consider as My contribution to FA

Another problem is selecting whether this batch system is needed or not by you?
It is very difficult to set an on/off switch in settings rather than asking it during installation process of FA. Because the database changes, form controls changes etc... any suggestions?
and how can be develop it as a module ?

Actually I didn't get your question.
Basically I modified FA for my use in Pharma products where there is no batch selection at customer level. If the product expired or near expiry it will returned to first point of sale. So if you have any suggestions please tell we can improvise it.
if you asked about entering batch details in purchase order entry form, batch numbers and expiry dates are decided at the time of manufacturing.
