It would be very useful to have one to add a new GL account on the fly.
Perhaps this feature could be added to next update.
Again, not being a programmer I can't do that.

It would be great to be able to add new GL accounts , Customer accounts, Supplier accounts and Inventory items "on the fly" without having to leave a processing screen to go to a set up screen.
For example I'm making a direct payment and discover part way thru that there is no GL account for my transaction set up. I need to leave my processing screen and loose info already input to go to a set up screen to add the new GL account.
Such a function would make user experience better.

It would be great to modify the search filter in Journal Enquiry - Bank Payments to search the first memo input field not the second input memo field.
(First memo input field being first memo input field on bank payment screen)
(Second memo input field being second .................on bank payment screen)
It would also be great to have the ability to search using the filter "paid to the order of" to help filter all payments to a particular payee.
Front allows editing of sale invoice dates.
There are no access settings (that I saw) to prevent a user from editing a sales invoice.
Risk: I can receive cash against a sales invoice today...then I can edit the invoice date to 3 days ago....then I can keep todays cash...and when today's sales to banking is reconciled to cash on hand for banking all looks ok..but it's not.
Solution: Allow editing of sales invoices as a user security feature in access control.

It probably is of benefit to many users.
When processing a customer payment thru customer payments it's not possible to add dimensionsions to the deposit.
However if the customer payment is processed thru banking and ledger deposits then it is possible to add a dimension. But this makes an added step of allocating the customer payment to sales invoices necessary.
It would be great if dimensions could be added in the customer payment screen.

I have updated the extension Import Transactions to incorporate Sales Orders / Invoices. A spreadsheet template is available for both credit invoices and cash invoices. Invoices may be multiline or singleline. The templates use a combination of service and product items. Each invoice / order is defined by the reference number used.

Yes, the report would be cluttered - good point.
A good solution would be a run option - with or without showing GL postings on the report.
It would be very helpful to show the GL postings on the journal Inquiry.
(Banking and Ledger...Journal Inquiry)
The GL postings are available if you click on an individual transaction - but review would be really easy if you could run your eye down the GL postings displayed on the screen instead of having to click on a transaction.
It is true that you can run a report for GL account transactions - but the advantage of having the GL postings visible on the Journal Inquiry is that correcting errors is easy using the on screen edit function. The process of review and correction then becomes seamless.... simpler...which would make FA nicer to use.
I followed the link to the fix but I have no idea what to do as I don't understand code.

It doesn't show customer and product. Only inventory sales report does.

you can't do that as the "inventory item" will be included in your balance sheet as stock which will reflect a huge incorrect value of stock that does not exist which would be very bad if you're using Front for accounting not just invoicing.
Front can't report the sale of services like in the Inventory Sales Report....
Category Description Customer Qty Sales Cost Contribution
Service Programming ABC Ltd 3 15 000 - 15 000

main point is that there's a bug that makes the VAT report wrong if a transaction has been edited - if a transaction has been edited then it's included twice on the VAT report instead of once.
the VAT report is used to make the VAT return and claiming the same input VAT twice is a problem that can have serious implications with the tax authorities.
any change of this real fix being included in a release so that Front's VAT report is reliable?

let me try be more clear with a different example - I processed a bank payment to the wrong account. I then went to banking and ledger...Journal Enquiry...clicked on bank payment....found the payment I wanted to edit...clicked on edit and then changed the allocation from "insurance" to "vehicle insurance"....clicked update.
Instead of editing the line that previously posted the payment to the Insurance account, the system added another line that posted the same payment to the vehicle insurance account.
Now I have 2 lines on the input screen instead of 1 - this is a bug.
When I edit a bank payment to change the GL allocation I find that the line I edit is included twice on the payment input.
Once as the pre-edited GL allocation and then again as the edited allocation.
Example - I changed $1000 posted to legal fees to intangible assets instead
After doing this I had 2 payments on my input screen -
$1000 to legal fees
$1000 to intangible assets
If I want to delete the legal fees line I have to click on the delete button on the intangible assets line.
so what does that mean in english?
We noticed that editing a journal entry that affects VAT control accounts results in a duplicate entry on the Tax report - but not in the GL VAT control acc.
For example if I edit a journal entry 3 times and there is VAT in the entry, the entry will appear 3 times in the Tax Report instead of once. The GL VAT control will be ok.

Does this mean that Manufacturing can't keep track of Work in Progress?
Meaning I can only update Front when the job is done and I can't issue 3 units of component to an assembly that needs 5 units today and the other 2 tomorrow? It has to be all 5 at once?
If I use advance manufacture then I don't issue the stock and produce the manufactured item if I have a BOM? I just produce the manufactured item, leaving out the issue of stock?
