To start with use the standard default theme whilst importing for first time. Make sure that your db schema matches the fiekd names and types in the same order as the sql/en_US-new.sql file.

I know it is not stable yet, but Import CSV module does not work in version 2.4. It installs but the menu item is blank where the import function should be on the menu. I am running blue collar as the theme. Any help would be appreciated.
