This feature works under F4 in purchase Direct Invoice currently, but was not implemented in Sales module. This is because in general you have to have the item already on hand before you can sell it (e.g. the item should be first manufactured or purchased).

But if the item is of 'service' type it would be handy to have this feature also in Sales Direct Invoice. We will add it in next minor release.

Did that but nothing. now F4 does nothing in Firefox. Where would one find these commands in Front accounting?

I am sure that the F4 key opens the Items creation as a popup. Is it possible to disable the F4 key in Firefox?

That is OK. F2 opens customer (If you want to add or change customer) and F3 opens branch ( if you want to add or change branch)

F3 opens pop-up for new customer creation.
F4 Does nothing. Opens PHP development bar on Fire Fox.

Is it possible to have a button to enter a new stock item in a popup window while you are busy in the direct invoice tab.

I have found a way around the issue by right clicking on the inventory tab and open it in a new window.
