i had the same problem. How i fix it was to delete the bank accounts in (Banking and General Ledger/Bank Account) it wont delete so you need to delete in Bank Account table in the database. then you can to journal entry and use it. i have not put anything in bank accounts in Banking and General Ledger because if i ever have to add a journal entry over time

Please look into the wiki about how to enter opening balances.

You can use the journal entry for entrance of opening balances.

You must have access role to enter bank transactions on bank accounts from journal entry.

BTW where do you take the money for the opening balance. Another bank/cash account. In that case you can use 'bank transfer'.

I want to open a bank account with some opening balance.But there is no option for opening balance in Banking and General Ledger/Bank Accounts menu. How can i add opening balance.
But after opening an account in report it show reporting balance is 0.00, But how to insert it???? HELP PLEASE....
