As long as you want to upgrade from one minor FA version to another, (in short words) the upgrade is as easy as copying the files over old ones. I'm not sure how it could be simplified.

It is more a system level db centric update. Rarely changes within a minor version - sometimes a force update may be in order when manually upgrading. If used, use with care after backup.

Is it not an idea to use this screen for normal update too? Like all other components such as Akeeba does?

This is meant for those upgrading from a lower database schema version from older versions of FA. It is not used in fresh installs.

Goodday everyone,

In the screen setup/update software there is a possibility to upgrade to a higher version.
What is the meaning of this way of update and how does it works.
I cannot find something about it in the Wiki.
