You should simply add your currency in Currencies menu option. To import exchange rates from source other than ECB you will need to write FA extension providing retrieve_rate() hook (see desrciption in includes/hooks.inc file).

good day, how can i add home currency? we are philippine base company so i would like to add Philippine Peso "PHP" to the home currencies. thx

latin1 charset does not contain euro symbol. I guess you could try switch to utf-8 encoding.

Via mysql-editor €-symbol can be entered.
But as soon as I save a record with a €-symbol via fa, the symbol is a ?.
I am using iso-8859-1 in mysql and langugae de_DE in fa.
