Possibility of adding an Item reference code or number field

Hi All,
I wish to find out if it would be possible to add an item reference number or code field to any where an item is called or used in FrontAccounting?
This should be linked to the item code or item name such that anytime an item is called or loaded, it would display/pop up the reference number automatically just as the item name or price pops up.
This should be applicable across the entire database of any item.
