			<description><![CDATA[<p>I asked CoPilot for some help on setting up FrontAccouting on a Synology and it pointed me directly to your post. I&#039;m no IT guy or DB guy but thanks to your instructions, I was able to setup FA on my synology. </p><p>I had a little issue with using with installation going to blank screen with a 504 error. Turns out that the installation process (writing tables to the database) took longer (2 mins 36 second) than the default timeout settings (120 seconds) in the webservice. Once I updated the webservice timeout to 360 seconds, the installation process continued to the end. </p><p>You instructions were spot on and worked for me. </p><p>So thanks!!</p>]]></description>

			<title><![CDATA[Running FrontAccounting 2.4.18 from Synology DiskStation]]></title>

			<description><![CDATA[<p>I&#039;m not a database expert, just an IT guy.<br />Took me half a day to figure things out while using ChatGPT, Grok and Gemini simultaneously!<br />So I decided to share the steps how I made it work.</p><p>Packages installed:<br />MariaDB 10<br />PHP 8.2<br /><a href="https://kb.synology.com/en-us/DSM/help/WebStation/application_webserv_desc?version=7">Web Station</a> from Synology NAS<br />phpMyAdmin (which also installed PHP 8.0 for some reason)</p><p>Web Station app<br />Web Service<br />Default Service, Edit, set HTTP to Nginx, PHP 8.2, Save<br />Script Language Settings: Edit User-defined PHP 8.2<br />extentions enabled: curl, mysqli, openssl, zip, zlib (without zlib it wouldn&#039;t let me add languages or access Repository during setup)</p><p>phpMyAdmin app<br />created a new database called frontaccounting<br />then created a new user</p><p>File Station app<br />copy FA files to web/frontaccounting<br />set http read/write permission for frontaccounting folder, including sub-folders</p><p>Issues encountered:<br />In the beginning I was setting things up with Apache HTTP Server 2.4 service<br />when running the browser with the address IP/frontaccounting&nbsp; &nbsp;the page wouldn&#039;t load giving some page errors.<br />Once I switched the back-end server to Nginx, things just started working.</p>]]></description>
