Can't Add Direct Invoice Item for some customers

For some customers mostly but not always customers with many transactions I can't add new item to the direct invoice and receive only
warning triangle without response to the request and leave no logs or footprint in php logs or nginx or php-fpm

after debugging the issue seems to appear in the line containing

unset($_POST['_stock_id_edit'], $_POST['stock_id']);

in the function handle_new_item() while the $_POST['_stock_id_edit'], $_POST['stock_id'] are defined and I could print them with
display_error and such and also this unset() call work on some customers and didn't work on others

I tried to change my php version from 8.2 to 7.4 and it worked for while but then it stopped and never worked even when I clear the cache

I'm using nginx and php 8.2 in rocky linux 8

do anyone face same issue?

Hello,

I have several installations of FA and yesterday I upgraded them all to version 2.4.17. Immediately the login fields disappeared and I couldn't login until I reduced the php version to 7.4. I was on version 8 before that, with no issues.

Secondly, when emailing invoices to customers, there used to be a green process bar near the top of the window which showed the progress of the email sending process and also showed the email address to which the invoice was sent. This has now completely disappeared. The emails are still being sent, but there's no status bar or indication.

Please let me know how I can fix these issues as these are live production systems.

Error reporting functionality doesnt seem to be working

I have been using Front Accounting for some time.
I rely on the import transactions functionality quite extensively.
However, I held off on upgrading from 2.4.4 for a long time, as it seemed that once I did an upgrade, I started to encounter a number of issues.

For context, my frontaccounting instances are installed on a shared hosting site, so I am high dependent on the php version as the service provider does not permit a different php version per installation.
On the same shared hosting site, I run a wordpress site that requires PHP 8.
I have used the .htaccess file to try and manage the php version, version 7.4. This seems to work. If I use the native version 8.2, frontaccounting it fails.
However, using 7.4 via .htaccess does seem to work.
The above is important as it provides context of the environment.

So, the issue I am experiencing is that when I try and use the import functionality, the functionality works as expected:
- The invoices import if the file is prepared correctly
- The import stops (when trial is not selected) when there is an error in the file
- THe file (bank payments and bank deposits) will import if the file is completed correctly

However, none of the notification functionality works. In other words:
- It does not tell me when I select the trial option is selected:
- Warning Asset and Liability with tax
- The "number" of invoices would have been successfully imported

So some how it does not seem to trigger the notification - I am not sure if this is a php issue or not
I have tried a clean install and have the same issue.

Can't add a new supplier

During the process of adding a new supplier, I fill out all of the requested information; however, when I click on the "Add new supplier details" button, I am taken to a page that only says "Back." There are no suppliers that I am able to add.
Kindly assist me!

PHP to 8.2 errors with FA 2.4.17

When I set my PHP to 8.2 with FA 2.4.17 the following error shows:

Creation of dynamic property front_accounting::$renderer is deprecated in file: /home/mydomain/public_html/accounts/frontaccounting.php at line 66 in Sales TAB when FA opens. When I refresh the page the error goes away.

When I switch back to php 8.1 it goes away.

Customer Or Supplier Selection By Manually Entering Characters

Hello All,

I don't know whether this is a bug or not, but I have just installed version 2.4.17, coming from 2.4.11. It was a fresh install, not an upgrade. There was a neat feature I loved and got used to over the years: when you opened a sales invoice, purchase order, sales order, etc., you could double-click on the customer or vendor field, hit enter, and that gave you the ability to type in the first few characters of the vendor or customer. Then you could drop down and select from a slimmed list. Now, that is not working. You either have to drop down and scroll through hundreds of customers or hit the search icon, wait for the window to open, then enter it on a separate window and search. This really takes time when you are handling many transactions a day. Is there a way I can get this quick search feature back?

I run FA for a small side business on a shared hosting server, can't get into all administrator settings. Not much of a coder

Was getting "Yellow Triangle" on many pages, anytime I changed a selector (ie customer)

Apparently they did some server-side upgrade ~ 1 yr ago and the only way I could operate with with javascript off (which is VERY clunky)

Every XHR from JSHttpRequest returned 403 error

I solved it today - in theory octet-stream isn't a whitelisted content type

Changed the request header to JSON and the issue went away

// Was 'application/octet-stream'

FYI -
The host is running Apache 2.4.58 and cpanel 110.0.17

2.4.17 Long Descriptions in Sales Invoices

Hello.

I recently upgraded from 2.4.7 -> 2.4.17. I didn't expect this as part of the upgrade however it appears that I'm no longer able to enter more than 50 characters, despite "Use Long Descriptions on Invoices" being enabled in company setup.

I'm not sure what the rationale is to this change, but this is a capability that I need - specifically when editing descriptions in template invoices. How can I revert back to prior behaviour?

I would like to bring to your attention that I have identified a bug in the latest version of FA.

When attempting to edit a transaction and modify the date, we encounter an issue where we are unable to save the transaction. An error message is displayed, which reads as follows:

"DATABASE ERROR: Cannot update audit gl_seq
Error code: 1048"

I have also confirmed that this issue persists in the latest FA release.

I would like to emphasize the urgency of addressing this matter promptly. Please prioritize and resolve this bug as soon as possible.

reopen the same transaction for editing
change the Date
and Save .

F2 for making/selecting a (new) supplier

Encountering issues with modules and updates

Hello, I'm encountering issues with modules and updates because some of your installed or active extensions are not compatible with the current version of FA. This compatibility mismatch could potentially lead to problems. Could you kindly update your FA installation or active tools to versions that are compatible with these modules? Additionally, there are several modules available on GitHub that seem to be missing, which is causing us to resort to manual installations. It would be greatly appreciated if these missing modules could be included in the releases.

A problem with the entry reference

If I open a journal entry with reference number 30 and have not finished working on it, and my colleague opens another entry before I finish working on entry number 30, he will take the same reference number 30. When the entry is saved, whoever saves it first saves it without error, and whoever saves it last will receive an error. Is it possible? Every time a record is opened, it takes a different reference

Description error in inactive sales quote

Hello, I often use the long description of the sales quote on older versions and it works fine, but when using version 2.4.11 it doesn't work and doesn't display properly.

What is this error and can it be fixed or do I have to return to an older version?
