Hi,

I installed and setup FA about 8 months ago using Docker and it's been working fine. I last used it a month ago without problem. Today when I try to access it I find it's going to the ERP Installation Wizard. When I enter the database name, user and password I get a message 'User or password is invalid or you have no permissions to create database.'. I've accessed the database on the mysql server without problem so the database name, user and password are correct. I tried setting up a new database but get the same message. Can anyone advise please? TIA

I have updated my website from php7.3 to php8.3 and now I can't login into FrontAccount. I can't seem to find any steps when upgrading the database.

Installation at office and multiple trucks that are warehouses

We are an electrical contractor and want to use FrontAccounting to run job costs and maintain optimal inventory levels. We have 3 large trucks that carry inventory and go to remote sites. We have Sierra Wireless modem / routers with a WWAN connection on each truck and industrial PCs. We want to install FrontAccounting on each truck to serve that "warehouse" to avoid issues with connectivity at remote sites. An instance of FrontAccounting would be installed on-premise at our office servers. How would this need to be set up? What errors would occur if a truck was outside of a connection area and that database was "offline", could we backup the databases to each instance of FrontAccounting and make them read-only until that database was connected again?

Upgrading Front Accounting

I have been using FA for a couple of years now and have been very impressed with its functions and features. I wish to commend and thank the developers for their fine efforts.

As time has passed, different versions of FA have been made available. However, to me, the mechanism for upgrading has been confusing at best with comparisons of different files, install a "new" version and import data from a backup, or overwrite the old files with the new.

I have opted to simply overwrite the files from Ver 2.14.17 over the 2.14.15 files. However, I'm not sure if the update is in effect because the footer shows Ver 2.14.15 when I log into the program.

I should be able to comment out "$version variable in config.php" to show the current release. However, there isn't a "version" variable in the config.php. There is a "build_version" only.

So.... If there is a simple update process, would someone please spell it out? [At least for relatively recent installations.]

Urdu language display is not working after upgrading FA to 2.4.17 vers

I wrote many notes & memo,s in urdu language, but after upgrading FA to 2.4.17 version urdu language display is not working anymore and instead of ??? Question marks are appearing.
How should I solve this?

Random timeout issue

Currently I'm on wamp 3.30 (windows) with:

PHP version = 8.0.26
MYSQL version = 8.0.31
Latest frontaccounting version

I get some random timeout issue / being returned to homescreen with 'Incorrect username / password. Please try again'

So far I have tried but it's not working so far:
- extending session.gc_maxlifetime = 1440 to higher value
- Company setup > login timeout to 86400

I'm on static ip address and wonder if anyone here can guide me on solving my error? Thanks!!!

Is FrontAccounting right for me?

I've been doing a bit of research on FrontAccounting, I've installed it on my sever and have been playing with it for a few months.

I currently use Quickbooks but am kind of fed up being tied to them and their ever increasing prices. Also I have the desktop version so the idea of a web based solution is kind of good for me.

I was hoping some members could comment if this is a good fit before I start trying to migrate all my data. First, I'm experienced in developing in PHP, MySQL, HTML, CSS, and a bit of JS. I build WP websites, I use SuiteCRM and develop in that so I'm thinking FrontAccounting would be a good fit. Who knows I might be able to contribute.

My business is in Canada.

Does FA work well with GST/HST and keeping track of remittances to the Government?

I have some clients in the US, does it work well with multi-currency?

I have two employees, I currently do payroll transactions manually in QB, is this fairly easy to replicate in FA?

One great feature of QB is to download and reconcile bank transactions. Does this work similar in FA?

Is there anything else I should know before diving in?

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Calendar / Date Dropdown No Longer Working

After upgrading FA from ver 2.4.11 to Build 7.03.2023 to FA 2.4.15, the date/calendar appears to no longer work.

I can manually enter the date, but the dropdown calendar has stopped functioning.

After upgrading FA from ver 2.4.11 to Build 7.03.2023 to FA 2.4.15 I am now receiving the following error message when trying to print a document.

TCPDF error: Unable to create output file: ../company/0/pdf_files/YgAJ_YBzcAdEUuEZLulbtQxx.pdf

Using Ubuntu 20.04.5
MariaDB 10.3.38
PHP ver 7.4.33

Unable to login after upgrade to the latest version 2.4.14

Hi all, i just try to upgrade to the latest version 2.4.14 from my share hosting.
But after the upgrade, i am unable to login.
It always shows a screen with the below wording, there is no other button to login into the system.
