I am looking for some help / advice on the best way to integrate our Transport Management System with FrontAccounting!

Obviously the integration wont be the same as Xero or QBO as we have access to the system and DB

I need to know the best ways to connect to the different sections so i can get things ready for our developers!

Best ways to connect to:

1.   Customers, Suppliers, Items / Services, Fixed Assets (Vehicles), Users (Staff / Drivers)
(having access to the db etc.. Direct to DB connection or api?)

2.   We will Create, and Email the Invoices with attachments from within the Transport Management System)
(Advice  on Best way to Handle that? direct or api) (also to ensure all steps / processes are followed etc...)

3.   We will use the Direct Invoice to Create the Invoices!

Need help on FrontAccounting System setup, Configurations, Set-up multiple companies, some changes to Modules/Reports. Pls advise if someone can offer professional help and support.

I’ve recently started looking into open-source accounting solutions for my small business, and while some platforms offer excellent community support, I’m having a bit of trouble locating in-depth guides on advanced features. I’m particularly keen on hearing about your experiences with integrating such tools or managing the more technical aspects of finance.

Would anyone be so kind as to share any tips or perhaps direct me towards some useful resources? Much appreciated !

Our development version suddenly started downloading the attachments as corrupted files.
FA system is a previous one modified to run on PHP 8.2.
Everything was fine even after conversion till January 2025.
I guess something we have done has gone wrong.

When the file is opened in the server "attachments" folder, with adding the file extension, file opens without any issue.
Once it is downloaded can not open and file corrupted message appears.

Can someone familiar with file downloads reply / contact me?

I have found it is not hard to add a new mb_flag type and existing options to prohibit buying or selling the item and then
we can add Crypto Buy and Crypto Sell in the banking section (Like Payments and Deposits)

I started looking at the webpages to add that functionality and support edit/delete etc as FA does so well and that is a bit of a push for me!

So what I want to do is implement it as part of a new or existing extension and once I have that working find someone to do the FA pages.

*** HELP WANTED *** (Read above first)

Once I get the crypto transaction import working I need someone, either an FA core programmer or someone else who has the skills.

I might be able to put up some money for the project but first and foremost the end product will be open source and available to be merged
into the main FA source.

I have been using FA for 15 years for free (and making contributions) and feel it is important to continue doing so.

If we get a few of us to work on it together we can work on a forked version.

If some who want this can contribute $25, $50, etc that can help - I work for free because I want to use the feature.

If you have something that does a lot of what I am asking for Great, but I am not interested in closed source.

Import Orders - Import as either Order or Direct Invoice.  Orders can be followed by pre-payments that can be applied to Invoices later.

Auto-Creation of Items - Items that don't exist in FrontAccounting can be optionally created on-the-fly using default item-type and GL accounts.

Auto-Creation of Customers - Customer masters that don't exist can be optionally created on-the-fly with standardized Reference nomenclature to ensure uniqueness.

Update Stock/Price in Ecommerce - Update stock and price (optional) in the Ecommerce system in near-real-time using current values in FrontAccounting.

CartSpan offers a number of useful utilities that were developed to support development of this integration. They are:

Delete Direct Invoice - All underlying transactions associated with the Direct Invoice are removed like it never even happened.

Delete Unallocated Payment - Remove an unallocated payment like it never happened.

Merge Customers - Merge all underlying entities and transactions associated with a source customer to a target customer.

*Change Item Code - A simple, yet important utility for when you decide you don’t like the current name of an item.

**Rename Customers/Branches - A fully automated integration depends upon consistently named Customers and Branches.  This utility allows you to rename your entire customer-base to consistently formatted References.

Copy an Order - Duplicate an existing order with a current date and current item pricing.

*  These utilities will only perform work on tables/columns associated with the standard product.  If you have custom tables/columns that utilize standard column names, these functions will not be allowed for obvious reasons.

**  Customer renaming requires an account with Google for their Address Verification API.   As FrontAccounting manages addresses in block text, a reliable parsing tool is required to break-out constituent parts for building-out new Reference IDs.  FYI... the naming convention is fixed (standardized) to ensure uniqueness.

SUPPORTED ECOMMERCE PLATFORMS:  Amazon, BigCommerce, CS-Cart, EcommerceTemplates, Magento 2.x, OpenCart, Shopify, SquareSpace, Virtuemart, WooCommerce (WordPress), and ZenCart.

SUPPORTED FULFILLMENT PLATFORMS (order import only):  ShipStation and ShippingEasy.

SYSTEM INFORMATION (to aid your decision):  CartSpan itself is a Microsoft Windows based application that resides on your local desktop.  CartSpan will communicate with its own standard PHP script (ionCube encoded) to accomplish the integration work.

I learned it is possible with a Direct Invoice, but not when starting from the Sales Order point in the ordering process.
